The Northern Miner, in partnership with the Canadian Mining Journal and MINING.com, held a very successful third annual Progressive Mine Forum in Toronto.
The forum brought together leading industry talent – including C-level executives, financial professionals and the most promising resource start-ups – for a day-long mining and exploration innovation summit. It took place at the MaRS Discovery District.
Highlights included a fireside chat with Tony Makuch, president and CEO of Kirkland Gold, a feature presentation by George Hemingway, partner and head of innovation practice at The Stratalis Group, and expert panel discussions tackling ongoing and measurable advancements in three major sectors: ESG (environmental, social and governance), big data and automation, and battery metals.
“The mining and metals industry has come a long way in embracing innovation, but as a few of our distinguished speakers highlighted, it still has much more to do if it is to meet the growing challenge of meeting every stricter responsible investing standards,” said Anthony Vaccaro, Group Publisher of The Northern Miner Group.
“We hope that this years’ edition of PMF helped the industry move closer to meeting that challenge in a more fulsome way.”
The Northern Miner is looking forward to bringing the Progressive Mine Forum back in 2020.
